The old town of Barcelona is a unique area of the city. Its origins date back to the Roman era when Barcelona was known as Barcino. Currently, a large part of the old town is occupied by the so-called 'Gothic Quarter', whose streets are truly impressive and transport every walker back to the medieval era.

On this Free Tour, you will discover the oldest corners of the city of Barcelona. To start, we will stroll through medieval streets and learn some of the most popular stories and anecdotes of the oldest neighborhood in the city. During the tour, we will pass by the Cathedral of Barcelona, the remains of the Roman aqueduct, the Mercat del Born, and Santa Maria del Mar.

Our guide Denise was not only very knowledgeable about the history of the Gothic quarter, but also she presented the information in a very energetic way -- which made the tour so much fun. Her passion for what she was explaining kept us interested and focused -- despite the bad weather. My wife and I certainly recommend Denise's tour for anyone who is interested.
