The Wawel Hill, located on the left bank of the Vistula River, is probably the most important site in Poland. A symbolic place linked to many legends, from which most of Krakow can be seen, and where the Cathedral and Castle are located. Its origins date back to prehistoric times, and its peak importance occurred during the Renaissance, when it was the central seat of the government of the Polish-Lithuanian Confederation.
This Guided Tour of the Cathedral and Wawel Hill is perfect for discovering one of the most important places in Krakow and Poland. You will learn about the different parts of the fortification, its walls, and places like the Gate of Shields and the Vasa Gate. You will enter the Cathedral and can descend to the crypts, where some of the most famous figures in Poland are buried. You will also ascend the famous Sigismund Tower, from where you can enjoy an incredible panoramic view of the city. You will also explore the entire fortified area along the river and learn stories such as that of the city's dragon.
