The capital of Hungary is world-renowned for its majestic Parliament by the shores of the Danube. This neo-Gothic style monument with baroque influences is the third largest parliament in the world.
During this Guided Tour, an expert guide will lead you through the exterior and interior of the Budapest Parliament so that you don't miss any details during your visit. You will start by learning about the history of Ferenc Rákóczi and the well-known politician Kossuth, after whom the square is named. Then, the guide will explain the origins and details regarding the construction of the Parliament, paying special attention to the Holy Crown, a historical symbol of the Kingdom of Hungary.
Inside, you can explore the most important public areas of this massive building. You will feel like a member of the bourgeoisie as you ascend the grand Main Staircase, decorated with elegant lamps, red carpets, and gold-accented elements. You will be able to enter the Old Upper Chamber, where deputies met in its early days, and the Dome Hall, where you can admire the magnificent ornamental dome, the numerous statues of the kings of Hungary, and the Hungarian crown jewels.
