The Uffizi Gallery has one of the oldest and most valuable art collections in the world. Its origins are linked to the Medici family, one of the most famous in Florence and in the history of Italy. The construction of the palace that now houses the gallery was commissioned by Cosimo de' Medici, and since the 16th century, its halls have hosted impressive works of art. Since 1769, the Gallery has been open to anyone who wants to contemplate pieces ranging from classical times to the Renaissance or Baroque. Beyond the incredible collection, the palace also impresses visitors, highlighting the Vasar Corridor that connects the Uffizi with the Pitti Palace.
