The old town of Barcelona is a unique area of the city. Its origins date back to the Roman era, when the city was known as Barcino. Today, much of this historic space is occupied by the Gothic Quarter, whose medieval streets transport visitors to another time and preserve the charm of centuries of history.
On this free tour, you will discover the oldest corners of the city. You will stroll through medieval streets while learning stories and anecdotes of the oldest neighborhood in Barcelona. During the tour, you will visit the Catedral de Barcelona, remnants of the Roman aqueduct, the Mercat del Born, and the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar, among other iconic places.

Our guide Denise was not only very knowledgeable about the history of the Gothic quarter, but also she presented the information in a very energetic way -- which made the tour so much fun. Her passion for what she was explaining kept us interested and focused -- despite the bad weather. My wife and I certainly recommend Denise's tour for anyone who is interested.
