The Spanish Inquisition is surrounded by myths, stories, and legends. Many of them took place in the streets of Madrid.

On our Free Tour, you will get to know the most important places related to the history of the Inquisition in the city. We will embark on a circular route that begins and ends at the Plaza Mayor, where the largest Auto de Fe held by the Inquisition took place in the capital. During the tour, we will pass by places like the Convent of Santo Domingo, the Convent of the Incarnation, or the site of its last Tribunal on Torija Street.

This tour will also shed light on numerous stories related to the Inquisition, the monarchy, Velázquez or one of the best-known Inquisitors: Tomás de Torquemada.
