In antiquity, Rome was the center of political organization of the Republic and later of the Empire. Today, its cultural and architectural heritage is so extensive that the city is considered the largest outdoor museum in the world.
On this guided tour of Ancient Rome in a small group, you will skip the lines and, thanks to an expert guide, you will learn about the most important archaeological sites in the city. The tour will begin with panoramic views from the Colle Oppio park to the Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine. From there, we will go directly to the Flavian Amphitheater, known worldwide as the Colosseum due to the enormous statue of the Colossus of Nero that originally stood at its gates. After learning about the shows held in the largest amphitheater in the empire, we will continue to see the Arch of Constantine.
Walking along the Via Sacra like a Roman of the time, we will arrive at the Imperial Forums, which are four extensions of the forum made by different emperors, and we will keep walking until we reach the original Roman Forum. These areas were the political and religious center of ancient Rome, which is why politicians and emperors built their majestic domus on the hill closest to the forums, the Palatine Hill.
