GRANADA

Are you planning to travel to Granada? We can help you. At MyTopTour, you'll find up-to-date information on what to see, where to stay, or the best areas for eating.

Day 1: The Alhambra and the Historic Center, Must-See Places

Undoubtedly, the best way to start a trip to Granada is by visiting its most recognized site: the Alhambra. This vast monumental complex usually takes a whole morning to visit (approximately 3-4 hours). Depending on your interest, the duration of the visit may vary; however, we recommend taking the Complete Guided Tour. During this tour, accompanied by an official guide who is an expert on the monument, you will explore all corners of the Alhambra, which will be explained to you in an engaging manner but with all the necessary details to appreciate this Nasrid jewel.

After visiting the Alhambra, which we recommend you do in the morning, you can have lunch in the area surrounding the monument or head to the historic center to enjoy some tapas bars, very typical in the city. The Plaza Mariana Pineda, Plaza Nueva, or Carrera del Darro area are where you will find some of the best places to eat. Another option is to enjoy an authentic Nazari Menu around the Alhambra.

After lunch, we recommend taking the  Free Tour Granada Essential: Historic Center and Lower Albaicín. During this tour, you will discover must-see places in the entire historic center such as the Cathedral, Plaza de las Pasiegas, and Alcaicería and part of one of the most popular neighborhoods, the Albaicín. This is undoubtedly the best option to spend the afternoon touring some of the most popular spots in the Nasrid capital. This Free Tour is also available in the morning.

If there’s one thing that stands out about the city of Granada, it’s the number of mysteries and legends that fill its streets. For those interested in such tales and stories, we recommend opting for the  Free Tour of Dark Granada: Mysteries and Legends. In this Free Tour, you can explore some of these mysterious stories as well as the various legends linked to corners of the city.

The best option for dinner is to head to the historic center. Plaza Mariana Pineda and Plaza del Campillo Bajo are two spots where you can find some of the best bars and restaurants in the city.

Day 2: A Walk Through the Most Popular Neighborhoods of Granada

A trip to Granada cannot be considered complete without visiting two of its most globally renowned neighborhoods. The Albaicín and Sacromonte are the two most popular neighborhoods in the city. The former features streets that transport us back to the Andalusian era, with various viewpoints and plazas overlooking the Alhambra and the entire city. Sacromonte is famous for its cave houses, unique constructions in the world. It’s also a flamenco district, where you can fully experience this traditional art.

Without a doubt, the best way to explore these two parts of the city is through the Free Tour UNESCO Heritage Neighborhoods: Albaicín and Sacromonte, where, accompanied by an official guide, you can better understand two of the most popular neighborhoods in the world. This Free Tour is available both in the morning and in the afternoon and is undoubtedly a must-do if you visit Granada.

For lunch, in addition to the previously mentioned areas, we recommend any of the restaurants and bars on Calle Elvira. If you prefer, you can also head to Plaza Bib-Rambla, where you will find many cafes to enjoy some good churros with chocolate or a coffee.

If you visited the Albaicín and Sacromonte in the morning, we recommend visiting the Realejo in the evening. This neighborhood, the old Jewish quarter of the city, has some of the most photographed streets and squares in Granada. For this, the best option is to join the Free Night Tour of Granada, which mainly covers the Relajo neighborhood, as well as highlighted points in the historic center like the Cathedral. Once the Free Tour has concluded, you can stay in Realejo and have dinner in the Calle Navas area or Plaza Campo del Príncipe, which offers a varied gastronomic selection.

Throughout this day, you can enjoy a flamenco show at Flamenco in Tablao in Granada. In both cases, you will experience a unique and special art form in the city of Granada, the land of zambra, flamenco, and tablaos and caves. The latter, located in the Sacromonte neighborhood, are unique natural spaces in the world where flamenco is felt in a particular way.
