Outside Mexico City, there are three of the oldest cities in the country, cities situated among mountains where Christian and indigenous cultures coexisted for years, whose influence can still be seen today.
On this excursion, you will visit the historic cities of Puebla, Cholula, and Tonantzintla with a local guide and round-trip transportation included. We will depart from Mexico City to Cholula by bus, from which you will see a wonderful mountainous landscape featuring the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes. Once in Cholula, you will travel back to its pre-Hispanic past at the archaeological site of the Great Pyramid. Very close to this city, we will visit the municipality of Tonantzintla, whose church of Santa María is a living example of the coexistence of Christian and indigenous cultures.
Finally, we will head to Puebla, a UNESCO World Heritage city known worldwide for its gastronomy, architecture, and ceramics. After a guided tour of the city's most emblematic sites, you will have free time to taste the local food and visit the Mercado El Parián, which features over 112 artisan shops selling all kinds of ceramics.
