Lisbon has become one of the most attractive and visited cities in Europe. Its combination of heritage, history, gastronomy, and leisure makes the capital of Portugal a unique place. The mix of various urban art murals with Gothic or Renaissance buildings and the peculiar trams make this city one of a kind.
The Lisbon Walking Tour covers the essential points of the Portuguese capital, in a small group of a maximum of 12 people. It includes all the places you must see if you visit one of the most popular cities in Europe. The tour will start at the famous Rossio Square, learning about who Pedro IV was and how the obelisk at the site represents the restoration of independence, a milestone in the country's history. After that, the guide will take you to the famous Central Station of Rossio, in Neomanueline style. The tour will continue through Carmo Square, the popular Chiado neighborhood, and Alfama, known for its Moorish origins. The tour will end at the Lisbon Cathedral and Commerce Square.
Throughout the tour, the guide will explain the entire history of the city, from its origins to the impact of the 1755 earthquake, which destroyed the city. You will understand the importance of fado music and the significance of the Carnation Revolution of 1974 for Portugal. Additionally, you will sample the famous pastéis de nata, a unique pastry in the world. You will also taste a wine, cheese, and typical chorizo from Lisbon, all in a typical Lisbon bar.
