Porto, the most popular city in the north of Portugal, is world-renowned for its iconic spots that make up its urban landscape.
On this Free Tour, you will explore the most popular places in Porto with an expert guide. The tour will begin at the famous University of Porto, from where you will learn about the twin churches known as Igrejas do Carmo and the smallest house in the city. Additionally, you will visit the Lello e Irmao bookstore, which is not only known for being the second oldest bookstore in the city but also served as inspiration for J.K. Rowling to write Harry Potter.
The tour will continue to the old prison of the city of Porto and the Palace of Justice. From there, you will head to the tallest tower in the city, the Tower of Clerics. In this area, you will also see a bridge of iron architecture directly inspired by the Eiffel Tower and enjoy the wonderful views from the Victoria Viewpoint.
This Free Tour will conclude by revealing a large part of the history of Portugal, specifically the history behind the Avenida dos Aliados and the 20,000 tiles of the Sao Bento Station.
