This Free Tour shows the hidden side of Paris, the other face of the city. The streets of the French capital have been the scene of crimes, macabre events, and mysterious and unsettling stories. There are many mysteries and legends that Paris possesses, one of the most surprising cities in the world.
The route of our Free Tour begins at Plaza Louis Lepine. From there, we will explore the surroundings of the Notre-Dame Cathedral, where we will get acquainted with the history of the recent fire and stories like that of the famous locksmith. It will be the perfect place to introduce some myths, such as the «murderous barber» or various tales related to the old morgue of Paris.
Our next stop will be the Court Palace, the setting for various mysterious stories. After that, we will cross the New Bridge, where we will learn about the death of Henry IV and talk about the curse of Jacques de Molay. Finally, we will arrive at the area of the Hôtel de Ville or City Hall, where we will discover the origins of the guillotine. At this last stop, we will understand where the Cemetery of the Innocents was located and, with it, the beginning of the catacombs.
