Fátima, Óbidos, and Nazaré are three must-visit places when traveling to Portugal. First, Fátima is world-renowned for its Santuary of Catholic pilgrimage and for being the site where the supposed apparition of the Virgin Mary was documented in 1917. Meanwhile, Óbidos is a small medieval village close to Lisbon, famous for its flowers and picturesque streets. Finally, Nazaré is a popular fishing village known for its beaches and natural landscapes, particularly its well-known cliffs.
The itinerary for our excursion starts at the Restauradores square in Lisbon, from where you will depart to Fátima, enjoying the wonderful scenery of the Ribatejo region. Once in Fátima, you will get to know the Santuary of Fátima, the Chapel of the Apparitions, or the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary and understand the history of the Virgin Mary's apparition to three children.
Afterward, you will head to the Batalha Monastery, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will then arrive at Nazaré, a small corner of Portugal famous for its landscapes and coastline. There you can eat and enjoy the cliffs and views.
On the way to the last stop, Óbidos, you will be able to gaze at various towns of the Arelho Estuary and San Martinho do Porto. Once in Óbidos, you will stroll through the entire historic center and its medieval streets, a unique and exceptional place for its heritage value.
