Be amazed by the incredible lighting of the night in Athens, a millennia-old city filled with history and archaeological discoveries, offering an unparalleled atmosphere as the sun sets. Discover the charm of some of its most representative illuminated corners, as well as curiosities and tips about the city from official guides in Spanish on this Athens Night Tour.

At dusk, the Academy of Athens awaits to begin this walking tour in front of the most beautiful neoclassical building in the world. From there, you will head to the Old Parliament, which currently houses the National Historical Museum, and discuss General Kolokotronis, known as “the hero,” whose equestrian statue is located in this square, which also shares his name.

Along the way, the guide will also discuss Ermou Street, the main shopping avenue of the Hellenic capital, and you will learn which god it refers to. You will arrive at the Church of Agia Dynamis, a small Orthodox temple from the 16th century that is “embedded” at the foot of a hotel. However, to properly discuss Orthodox religion, you will head to Mitropoleos Square, where you will find the Cathedral of the Annunciation of Saint Mary, the main oratory of Athens, and the Church of Agios Eleftherios, also known as the Mini Cathedral.

The walk will continue through some streets in the oldest neighborhood in Europe, Plaka, to see the Benizelos Mansion, which is said to be the oldest house in the capital of Greece, built in the 16th century by the father of the current patroness of the city. Do you know who it refers to? In this neighborhood, you will also visit the charming area of Anafiotika, characterized by its narrow streets at the foot of the Acropolis.

The curiosities of the Church of Agios Nikolaos Rangavas await before heading to the Gate of Athena, where you will dive into the legends and stories surrounding the foundation of the city of Athens. After this, you will advance to the Flea Market to enter a traditional Greek market that has not lost its essence and is a clear representation of the local life of its neighbors.
