ÚBEDA AND BAEZA

Úbeda and Baeza are perfectly connected to the main cities in Spain. Both have urban transportation; however, as they are small cities (especially Baeza), public transport is not as developed as in larger cities. They are only about 10 kilometers apart.

Below, we will explain some useful recommendations for both reaching and moving around Úbeda and Baeza.

How to get there?

The best way to get directly to either of these cities is by your own car or by bus.

  • To arrive by bus, you should use the ALSA transport company, which has various schedules and routes to both cities (you can check it here).

You can also travel by ALSA bus between Úbeda and Baeza at different times of the day.

  • The mode of transportation that will provide you with the most autonomy is the car, as they are cities that are very well connected to each other and to the rest of Andalusia and Spain. If you decide to drive to Úbeda or Baeza, you can arrive via the following roads:
    • From the north or west of Spain: A-4 to Bailén, switch to A-32 (towards Úbeda A-316).
    • From the south:
      • Granada or Jaén: A-44 and then A-316.
      • From Almería: A-92 to Guadix and then A-401.
    • From Murcia, Valencia Community, and Catalonia: A-7.
    • From Albacete: N-322.
  • You can also reach Úbeda and Baeza by train. The nearest station is Linares-Baeza, which is about a 20-minute drive from Baeza (if you choose this option, we recommend taking a taxi from the station to Úbeda or Baeza). You can check the schedules here.
  • As a last option, there is the plane. The nearest airport is Granada, from where you can take a bus to Úbeda or Baeza, or also rent a car.

How to get around Úbeda and Baeza?

Both Úbeda and Baeza offer a local bus transportation service; however, they are small cities that are very easy to navigate on foot. Below you can find information along with links to the routes and stops for this service in each city:

  • Urban transport in Úbeda. It has two lines that run through the city. The regular ticket costs €0.75, and a ten-trip pass costs €6. It operates Monday to Saturday during the day and evening, depending on the line.
  • Urban transport in Baeza. The regular ticket costs €1. You can purchase a pass for up to 50 trips for approximately €26.

The taxi option is one of the most comfortable and fastest ways to reach your destination, although not the most economical.

There are several taxi stands in the city:

  • C/ S. José (next to the Bus Station).

In any case, Úbeda and Baeza are small cities and can be easily navigated quickly and comfortably on foot. Most places of interest are concentrated in the historic center, and therefore walking is the best option, the most affordable, and it will allow you to fully enjoy both cities.
